Out of bounds
The sixth-hole boundary, area behind the ninth green, practice chipping and putting areas, and maintenance area right of the sixth fairway have course-specific out-of-bounds definitions.
Abnormal course conditions
White-lined GUR, clearly defined vehicle wheel marks or ruts, and water-eroded deep furrows in bunker sand are included as abnormal course conditions.
14th-hole no-play zone
When playing the 14th, the area between the tee and western side of the canal is a compulsory no-play zone; it does not apply while playing the 13th.
Roads and paths as immovable obstructions
All artificially surfaced or formed roads and paths, including gravel and spilled artificial material, are immovable obstructions with Rule 16.1 relief.
Protection of young trees
When a protected young tree interferes with the ball, stance or intended swing outside a penalty area, relief under Rule 16.1f is mandatory.
Relief from tree roots near fairways
Free relief is available from exposed roots in the fairway or rough within two club-lengths of the fairway when they interfere with the ball, but not for stance-only interference.
