Out of bounds
All areas beyond the course boundary fence are out of bounds.
Red and yellow penalty areas
Named rivulets, ditches, dams and spillways are defined as red or yellow penalty areas; dropping zones are available on holes 12 and 13.
Movable obstructions
Hoops, pegs and ropes defining protected areas, together with bunker rakes, are movable obstructions.
Immovable obstructions
Staked vegetation, signage, penalty-area and distance-marker pegs, satellite boxes, sprinkler heads, the fence beside the first tee, and artificial or rock tee walls are immovable obstructions.
Ground under repair and paths
Marked GUR, artificially surfaced paths, attached fallen trees, material piled for removal, specified gardens, practice greens, sheds and the described service road are abnormal course conditions.
Sprinkler-head line-of-play relief
Extra line-of-play relief applies when an immovable obstruction is within two club-lengths of both the green and the ball.
