Out of bounds
Out of bounds is beyond boundary fences, white stakes or poles, and white stakes or poles with black tops or stripes, including their extensions.
Seams of cut turf
Free relief under Rule 16.1b is available when a ball lies in or touches a cut-turf seam, or a seam affects the intended swing; stance-only interference does not qualify.
Marked ground under repair
White-lined or blue-staked GUR allows free relief and includes new or maintenance work, distinguishable machinery or vehicle tyre marks, and bare patches or animal marks on greens.
Road and path relief
All roads and paths are immovable obstructions, even when not artificially surfaced, and allow free relief under Rule 16.1.
Landscaped gardens
Landscaped garden areas marked by white stakes with green tops are no-play zones. Relief must be taken under Rule 16.1f.
Protected staked trees and shrubs
A staked tree or shrub affecting the intended swing, or the immediate line of play within two club lengths, is a no-play zone and GUR; relief is mandatory under Rule 16.1b.
Exposed roots and rocks
In the general area cut to fairway height, exposed roots and rocks interfering with the club-head path are treated as GUR. Free one-club-length relief is available; stance-only interference does not qualify.

Regulations
Pace-of-play timing
A group over its allowed time and out of position may be timed. A player has 50 seconds for a first-to-play approach, par-3 tee shot, chip or putt, and 40 seconds for other listed shots.
Course dress code
Clothing must be neat, clean and not torn or overly frayed. Excessively revealing or offensive clothing is not allowed, and suitable sports footwear is required; high heels, exaggerated tread, thongs and bare feet are prohibited.
