Alternative relief for lost ball or out of bounds
The Model Local Rule E-5 fairway relief option is available for a two-stroke penalty.
Mandatory relief from protected trees
Staked trees and shrubs are no-play zones and mandatory free relief must be taken.
Ground under repair
Marked areas, kangaroo damage, wheel ruts and bunker washaways are treated as ground under repair under the published conditions.
Immovable obstructions
Constructed paths, roads, drains and listed artificial objects are immovable obstructions; specified dropping zones and near-green line-of-play relief apply.
Abnormal bunker conditions
Footprints, divots, casual water and artificial steps in bunkers receive the relief specified by the Local Rules.
Protected gardens
Gardens marked with green-and-white stakes are no-play zones and mandatory relief must be taken.
Exposed tree roots
Free relief is available from exposed tree roots in the fairway or within the defined distance from the fairway edge.
