Local Rules
Pines and Palms out of bounds
Black-topped white stakes, walls, fences and adjoining residential properties define OOB; on the Pines, the road beyond the 15th green is also OOB.
Penalty-area drop zones
For a penalty area with a drop zone, the player may use Rule 17 relief or the nearest designated zone for one penalty stroke.
Pines penalty-area provisional
On Pines holes 4, 7 and 13, a provisional ball may be played under the stated modified Rule 17 procedure when uncertain whether the original entered a penalty area.
Defined GUR and bunker damage
White-marked areas, sponsor paint, wheel ruts, white-staked bunkers and kangaroo prints qualify for the specified free relief.
Fairway-edge tree-root relief
Free relief applies to exposed roots in fairway-height areas or rough within one club-length of the fairway edge, except for stance-only interference.
Palms fairway bare-patch relief
On the Palms Course, a ball on a bare patch in a fairway-height area may take free relief; divots are excluded.
Pines hole 11 bunker-stair relief
On Pines hole 11, free relief is available from stairs in the bunker, and a ball originally in the bunker must be dropped in the bunker.
Staked plants are no-play zones
Staked trees and shrubs, and young pine trees under one club-length in height, are no-play zones requiring relief.
Course Intelligence
Course Character
The round starts with logistics: The Pines is tightly access-controlled, while The Palms has a separate visitor pathway. Sanctuary Cove pairs The Pines' pine-forest and lake challenge with The Palms' contoured greens and strategic bunkering. Two distinct Gold Coast resort layouts with access rules that matter.
Major Risks
Water and pine corridors The Pines brings water into play across much of the route and uses pine-lined corridors, so choose a target before choosing aggression. Palms green complexes The Palms' bold contours and bunkering reward a planned approach and a realistic recovery line.

30-second Pre-round Brief
Sanctuary Cove · before tee-off The club says it is members-only; resort guests and introduced visitors follow different pathways. Resolve access first The review describes multiple tee positions, especially at the Pines 13th, so do not default to the back markers.
